Malaysia at CeBIT 2017

Malaysia will participate in the world’s largest computer expo CeBIT with a National Pavilion.
Organised by MATRADE, Malaysia’s Authority for External Trade Development, the Malaysian Pavilion in hall 12 A38 will showcase nine companies. Mr Badrul, MATRADE’s Trade Commissioner in Frankfurt, announced  “innovative products such as solar-powered parking meters with smart card facilities, solutions related to the security aspect of the internet environment with big mail transfer, as well as consumer technology products related to IoT devices.” The last time Malaysia was represented at CeBIT with a National Pavilion was in 2014. This year, the roster comprises the following companies:
1. Custommedia (
Custommedia is one of the pioneers of Internet-of-Things in Malaysia and currently providing IoT-middleware. Established in 1991, the company’s core competency lies in the software engineering discipline. Custommedia is ISO 9001-certified and was among the first to obtain the MSC Malaysia-status endorsement. It also obtained the TMMi Level 4 accreditation in May 2016.
2. Datmel Technology Sdn Bhd
Datmel is a manufacturer and designer of solar-powered parking meters with smart card facilities.
3. Emgraft Systems (
Emgraft Systems focuses on security aspect of the internet environment with their big mail transfer, simple datadiode, cloudtrap and others.
4. K-One Technology (
K-One Technology is providing a one-stop solution on the development and manufacturing consumer technology products related to IoT devices. The company is listed on Malaysia stock exchange.
5. KYROL Security Labs (
KYROL Security Labs is developer of KYROL Internet Security, an anti-virus suite.
6. Malaysia Software Testing Board (MSTB)
Malaysian Software Testing Board (MSTB) is a national body representing the industry interests in promoting Software Quality Assurance (SQA) and software testing as core competencies in the development of IT-dependent quality products and services. As a member of the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB), MSTB regulates the accreditation and certification processes for Malaysia. The certification programs offered by ISTQB syllabus are built upon the best practices and collective testing knowledge contributed by the testing practitioners worldwide. Certifications offered by MSTB are Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL) and Certified Tester Advanced Level (CTAL) that are recognised in all member countries of ISTQB. Unlike some other professional certification, there is no requirement to renew one’s certification as it is for a life time. MSTB also offers the Certified Professional in Requirements Engineering (CPRE) through its partnership with the International Requirements Engineering Board (IREB) that provides the core syllabi and guidelines for accreditation and examination in requirements engineering.

MSTB is also a member of the Asian Software Testing Alliance (ASTA), a regional alliance comprised of member countries of ISTQB. The regional headquarters for ASTA is based in Malaysia with MSTB functioning as its secretariat.
7. SVI Tech (
SVI Tech is a technology developer firm focusing on healthcare solution, finance and telecommunication.
8. Telekom Malaysia (TM)
Telekom Malaysia (TM) is Malaysia’s leading telecommunication company and is the largest broadband service provider in the country. Started as national telecommunication provider, TM is now branch out to offer ICT services, entertainment, edutainment and other related services.
9. Cyberview (
Cyberview is a Technology Hub Enabler that empowers the tech community through the delivery of industry development initiatives, investor relations services and tech hub development and management services. The organization spearheads the development and transformation of Cyberjaya into a Global Tech Hub. It takes pride of its ability to consult, establish, and advance an open and conducive technology hub ecosystem by fostering unique business growth models for all stakeholders. They believe in unlocking the potential of technology through collaborative efforts from both the public and private sectors to propel economic growth and wealth creation.

CeBIT 2017 will take place in Hanover from 20. – 24. March. The exhibitions claims to be “the only event in the world to present the digital transformation in its entirety, showcasing real examples and best practice.”
